More Melbourne Congestion

City roads crowded with solo drivers

Melbourne is limited in mobility in a way some other cities aren’t; it only has a very limited number of direct arterials which convey traffic into the heart of the city.  Personally, I have three main ways of getting to the CBD; one is to circumnavigate the entire city and enter it from the opposite end, so really, I have two.  Both are very close together (Eastern Freeway and Hiedelberg Road) and empty out onto Alexandra Pde at nearly the same point.  Hence, infrastructure changes in this kind of environment clearly aren’t the way to go.
